According to statistics, in the first half of the year, Putian City exported a total of 538 batches of textiles, a batch ratio of 21.6%. To this end, the inspection and quarantine department reminds related textile and garment companies to pay close attention to the latest developments in textile products laws and regulations of the major importing countries or regions of the products and to grasp the specific requirements of relevant laws and regulations. At the same time, actively improve the production process, the use of environmentally friendly raw materials and other methods, and further strengthen the technical cooperation with scientific research institutions, testing departments to ensure product quality and safety, enhance the ability to deal with various technical trade measures through technological capabilities.

It is understood that the newly established textile trade barriers are obviously characterized by an increase in product testing items and improved technical requirements. For example, in order to maintain the textile safety standards in line with international standards, after the European Union launched the REACH program, Japan has also established self-discipline standards for textiles that do not use specific azo dyes, and plans to ban the detection of azo dyes on textiles exported to Japan; Egypt has banned the use of harmful substances. Material dyeing new standards for clothing and textiles, clarifying the safe use of certain types of dyes and strictly regulating clothing from abroad.

In addition, the Taiwan region of China also implements a mandatory inspection system for different types of textile products, of which the clothing and accessories worn by infants and young children under 24 months or less than 86cm in height have been implemented since July 1 this year. The implementation date for towels, sweaters, ready-to-wear, swimwear, hosiery, bedding, etc. is January 1, 2012. After the implementation of the system, textiles imported to Taiwan must comply with various requirements to pass the mandatory inspection system to enter the Taiwan market.
