VANCL is pushing the boundaries of e-commerce logistics with its latest initiatives. The company has already introduced same-day delivery in major cities, and now it's aiming to take things even further. At a recent VANCL Logistics Conference, the company announced plans to significantly improve delivery speed and coverage next year, including personalized options like fixed-time and fixed-location deliveries. The delivery window will even extend until 9 PM at night, making it more convenient for busy professionals. According to VANCL’s distribution center analysts, these enhancements reflect a deep understanding of consumer behavior and the growing demand for faster, more tailored services. In today’s online shopping landscape, logistics speed and service quality are key factors that influence customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. VANCL has been a pioneer in this space, introducing 24-hour delivery, 12-hour logistics, and other innovative models that have had a significant impact on the broader e-commerce industry. The personalized delivery service, as described by VANCL stakeholders, involves delivering goods exactly when and where customers want them. This feature will first be tested in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, where four-hour delivery is already available. Expanding delivery hours to 9 PM will also help serve students and office workers who may not be home during the day. Currently, most online retailers outsource their logistics to third-party companies, which makes implementing such precise timing difficult. However, VANCL has already built its own logistics network in Beijing and Shanghai, giving it the flexibility to break away from traditional models and offer more customized solutions. In addition to expanding delivery times, VANCL is working on creating a 500-kilometer "urgent circle" around its three main warehouses in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. This initiative aims to ensure that most cities within 500 km can receive orders within 24 hours. After this expansion, cities like Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Nanning will also benefit from faster delivery times. With the rapid growth of online shopping in regions like the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the Pearl River Delta, and the Yangtze River Delta, VANCL’s move to establish these “emergency zones” positions it well ahead of the competition. The company also plans to expand its cash-on-delivery service to cover 80% of Chinese cities by 2010, increasing the number of cities from 1,000 to 1,800. This strategy will make VANCL one of the most widely covered B2C companies in terms of cash-on-delivery availability in China.
