1-7-month Export of Artificial Gemstones from Wuzhou, Guangxi Province Increased by Over 40%

This year, the export of specialty industries in Quzhou, Guangxi has a rapid growth momentum. According to the statistics from the Cangzhou Customs, from January to July, the total value of artificial gemstone exports was 4.407 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 43.3% year-on-year.

Hong Kong is the largest export market for artificial gemstones in the city of Luzhou. Exports to Hong Kong have reached US$2.538 million, even in more than 10 countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Austria, the Czech Republic, Thailand, and Italy. It accounted for 57.6% of total exports.

Luzhou is the world's artificial gemstone capital. In recent years, due to the impact of international financial crisis and rising labor costs, the export volume of artificial gemstones in Quzhou has declined. Since the beginning of this year, with the improvement of the international market and the recovery of prices, the artificial gem industry is facing new opportunities for development. However, people in the industry believe that the short industrial chain of artificial gemstones in the city of Zhangzhou and the lack of supporting industries still restrict the scale of production and export of synthetic gemstone jewelry products.
