Quenching of glass is an important part of the tempering process. The requirement for tempering glass quenching is rapid and uniform cooling. Therefore, before the glass is cooled internally, the surface has cooled and contracted. When the interior is cooled, the surface has shrunk, which creates a tensile stress that causes the surface of the glass to be under compressive stress, which results in tempered glass.
At present, the jet cooling forms used in the horizontal tempered glass quenching process include slit type, nozzle type and pipeline type. No matter what method is used for quenching, the tempering process requirements must be met: it can effectively dissipate the heat and facilitate the removal of the broken Glass and try to reduce the blowing noise and so on.
The cooling system of the tempering furnace better solves the problem of the tempering process and ensures the quality of the tempered glass. The whole cooling system adopts a closed structure, and the observation window is installed outside the system, so that the operation and fracture of the glass during the tempering process can be observed at any time. The air grille is composed of upper and lower parts. The air intake manifold of the upper and lower air grille is connected to the air distribution center. The air distribution center is equipped with a fan outside, and the glass is cooled by air blowing. The windshield roller is made by obliquely winding the wear-resistant glass fiber rope around the heat-resistant steel pipe. The heat-resistant fiber rope is wound from one end of the roller to the other end in a spiral shape (at a certain pitch) around the steel pipe. On the adjacent roller road, the thread of the fiber rope is wound in the opposite direction, so that the glass does not slant during the reciprocating motion. The contact surface of the fiber rope and the heat-resistant steel pipe is generally wrapped at an angle of 35°, so that the winding is firm and should not be damaged. The wear-resistant glass fiber rope wound on the steel pipe makes the glass form a point contact with the roller table, reduces the contact surface between the glass and the roller, reduces the possibility of glass scratching, and the gap between the spirals of the fiber rope provides more uniform cooling of the lower portion of the glass. The air flow area improves the efficiency of tempering and the quality of tempered glass.
If the fiber rope is not wound, the cooling air will be confined between adjacent conveyor rollers, especially when tempered thin glass will produce obvious bulging, and will also cause uneven quenching of the glass, resulting in the surface of the glass. The stress is uneven and a rainbow appears.
