### Project Details
**Pattern Used:** Liesl + Co. Belgravia Knit Dress
**Fabric Used:** I selected a rich burgundy-colored ponte di Roma from my local fabric store, Dům látek.
I had been eagerly waiting for the release of the Belgravia Knit Dress. Its elegant design paired with the comfort of knit fabric makes it perfect for office wear. When I spotted the burgundy ponte di Roma, I knew it would be ideal for creating this dress.

For this project, I chose View B with ties that wrap around the waist. I shortened the sleeves to three-quarter length and incorporated the View A slit. At the time, my measurements were 38.5 inches for the bust, 32.25 inches for the waist, and 42.5 inches for the hips. Thus, I went with a size 12, grading to a size 14 at the hips. My waist measurement is only slightly larger than the size 12, but there was enough room in that area to accommodate it comfortably.
Beyond altering the sleeve length, I made a few additional tweaks to the pattern. Before cutting, I slightly rounded the tips of the ties and lowered the V-neck point by approximately 1 1/4 inches.
After assembling the dress, I realized the shoulders were a bit broad, and there was extra fabric above my waist at the back. These issues suggested that I needed a narrow shoulder adjustment and a swayback adjustment. While I typically apply these alterations, I somehow overlooked them during the initial cutting phase. In the end, I narrowed the shoulder seams by about 5/8 inch and trimmed 3/4 inch off the bottom of the back bodice piece (centered, tapering to nothing at the sides).
### Did the Fabric Work Well?
Absolutely! The medium-weight fabric ensured the dress wasn’t overly clingy while still draping beautifully. This allowed the pleats at the bust and waist to look fantastic once the dress was tied.
### How Did the Sewing Go?
The instructions were clear and straightforward, making for an enjoyable and effortless sewing experience.
### What Was the Best Part?
I absolutely adore the ties! They’re cleverly integrated into the front bodice pattern piece, adding visual interest during construction. Most importantly, they provide a flattering fit around the bust and waist when tied. I’m definitely planning to make another version of this pattern—I think it would look fantastic as a top too!
